Here, you can commission a charcoal pet portrait with a white background. It can include more than one pet as well as a toy or two, if you’d like, so long as they’re all in the same photo.*
These black and white portraits are anything but basic. Charcoal drawings have a classic and striking look to them. Because of their color palette, they often look more serious as well.

I’ve drawn over 125 cats and dogs since I first began making pet portraits in 2014! I take great pride in each pet portrait being both a customized and collaborative experience. THE PROCESS
After your order is placed, you’ll receive an email from me. Reply to that email with your chosen reference photo (if you’re having trouble choosing between a few photos, send them all! I’ll happily give my recommendations).
By placing your order, your commission will be added to my production queue. Read more about turnaround time in the “Important Notes” below.
Once I’m about to start on your piece, I’ll send you an email to touch base. I’ll make an initial pencil sketch of the pet(s) and, if that all looks good, I’ll start filling it in!
I like to send a photo update or two while I’m creating so you can see how it’s going. Once the piece is complete, I’ll send you another photo for you to review. We have two rounds of revisions to make the final tweaks!
After revisions, I’ll wrap up your portrait and ship it your way via USPS Priority Mail.

TURNAROUND TIME
I feel extremely lucky to have a steady stream of commissions and, because of that, there is a wait time. This can fluctuate depending on the season and my schedule. If your order is time sensitive, please email me before placing your order to confirm that I can create your piece in time.
EDITS & EXTRAS
*This listing is only for 4x6”, 5x7”, 8x10”, or 11x14” pet portraits that will use one reference photo and have no background. If you’d like to:
commission a larger or smaller artwork,
use multiple reference photos (that will need to be comped together),
include a human, or
include a full or partial background
Then please send me an email on my contact page so I can put together a customized quote. I can make artwork at any size and would be happy to make an individualized piece just for you!
FRAMING
All artwork comes unmatted and unframed. I’d be happy to tell you more about custom framing options or to send you my framing tips should you decide to do it yourself!
